Famous for its daytime cherry blossoms, Naka-Meguro really comes to life during the evening each March/April for the cherry blossom illumination.
One beautiful early April day I took a walk along the Meguro canal river and saw the mesmerizing cherry blossom trees in full bloom. Many people were walking around and enjoying the sights, taking photos as well as eating and drinking the various foods and beverages offered at the stalls near the river side.

Meguro river which flows from Setagaya Ward to Shinagawa Ward in Tokyo is famous for its beautiful cherry trees from late March to early April. The river in Meguro Ward is about 3.8km long and there are more than 800 cherry trees there.
Meguro River is one of Tokyo's best locations for waterside cherry blossoms against an urban setting. During springtime, the river and surrounding area play host to numerous festivals, from daytime performances to nighttime illuminations. Typically, Meguro River will have several events during cherry blossom season that span multiple days. You will likely see numerous people picnicking on the grassy areas along the river. Nighttime Illuminations For the 2024 festival, the illumination period has been extended to April 14 (previously April 7). There will also be a colored light-up show from 6:50pm–7pm daily. Between Ikejiri-Ohashi and Meguro Station, Meguro River will be adorned with lines of pink lanterns, which are illuminated from roughly 5pm–8pm.

This theater was rebuilt in 1955 as the theater for the Kita-ryu School, a prestigious Noh school that has been active since the Edo period.
