Adachi is in the rural area of Yasugi, tucked away between the dramatic Shimane Mountains in a long, flat valley. The Adachi Art Museum was founded by Adachi Zenko in 1980 to combine his passion for Japanese art and landscaping. He hoped that Viewing the gardens and works of art together would increase people's appreciation and interest in Japanese art.
