Think snowball fights are just for kids? Think again! The Koide International Snowball Fight draws in crowds from around the region - from the young to the young at heart. Teams are required to register in groups of five prior to the event, and those groups then battle it out at Koide's Hibikinomori Park for the honor of being snowball fight champions.
Costumes are encouraged at the event, so if you do plan to register a group feel free to go all out and get into the spirit of things! Further information will be available on their website when registrations open.
Getting there
The Koide International Snowball Fight is held at the Hibikinomori Park. The closest station to the venue is Koide Station on the JR Joetsu Line. From the station, change to the Urasa Line bus bound for Okutadami Recreation City Park. Get off at the Okurekoen Bunkakaikan Mae stop, and the park is approximately 10 minutes walk from there. If you're headed there by private vehicle, free parking is available at the site.
