Cafe A Table is situated in the heart of Minamiuonuma, right on Route 17 - a main thoroughfare that snakes all the way from Tokyo to Niigata City. It's very much a mom-and-pop style cafe where you feel like you've just entered someone's home, and has a unique rustic charm with books and plants scattered around the store.
You can enjoy full meals here, or just pop in for something sweet with a coffee or tea. Their honey toast is particularly indulgent, and comes covered with ice cream, whipped cream, and a drizzle of chocolate syrup.
No matter the time of year that you visit, you'll get some pretty incredible views from the back of the cafe. The mountainous landscape is especially lovely when covered in a healthy dose of snow.
Getting there
Cafe A Table is located a fifteen minute walk from Itsukamachi Station on the JR Joetsu Line. If you're visiting the cafe via private vehicle there is parking available on site.
