One of the things that Nara is famous for is its parks and gardens. Boasting exceptionally beautiful panoramic views, they are everyone’s favorite spots. If you plan on going to Nara anytime soon, one recommended park that should definitely be on your list is none other than Nara Park.
Nara Park is located just around 5 minutes of walking from the JR Kintetsu-Nara Station. It extends about 4 km east to west and 2 km north to south. It is famous for having hundreds of freely roaming deer (believed to be the messengers of Gods, based on the Shinto religion) as well as beautiful landscape. Scattered around the park are historic shrines and temples that you should also visit while you’re there.
This autumn, Nara Park attracts people who do not only want to interact with the deer, but also enjoy the beautiful autumn foliage. As the park can be quite busy during the day, make sure that you come here as early as possible.
