Sasebo is famous for its dishes often using flavours influenced by the United States. However, after my cruise on The Pearl I wanted something with some more authentic Japanese flavours before heading back to JR Kyushu Sasebo Station. So I headed to nearby Ago Ramen at the Saikai Pearl Sea Resort.
Out of the many varieties, I opted for the agodashi ramen and its lighter broth which suits the taste of Sasebo residents. Ago Ramen also offers other varieties, such as Hokkaido-style with butter and corn toppings. The second-floor shop has a great view over the harbour.

Hi, I'm a University student from England. I like art, quiet coffee shops and of course travelling. I hope some of my finds can inspire you to explore Japan, and introduce some of the wonderful experiences and cultural heritage the country offers.
