From mid-April to mid-May, Nagano's Achi Village comes alive with the color of around 10,000 peach trees in bloom, filling the area with stunning shades of red, white, and pink. An annual festival takes place when the blossoms are at their best, and the event also includes a variety of local agricultural products for sale – including peach tree seedlings if you want to try and grow your own.
One of the most enjoyable features of this festival is that timing-wise, visitors can enjoy the peach blossoms at the same time as various other blooms including cherry blossoms, azaleas, and skunk cabbages.
During the flowering period, the peach blossoms will be illuminated from 6 pm until 11 pm.
The Achi Village Peach Blossom Festival is located just off the Sonohara IC on the Chuo Expressway. Paid parking will be available at the event, with prices ranging from ¥500 to ¥1000 depending on proximity.
More details about parking lots and locations can be found on the official event website.
