The port city of Shiogama is well-known for its annual Port Festival and its fish market. But there are other architectural treasures that are worth seeing there. One of the more popular places is the Shiogama Jinja. The history of this shrine dates back some 1200 years. There are two entrances to reach the main temple area, and they both include climbing quite a lot of stairs.
The peaceful setting and unique location is certainly worth a visit and of course worthy to share with photos.
