Mie Prefecture's Nabana no Sato is a renowned flower park that is well-known across Japan for its stunning seasonal illuminations. One of the floral highlights at the park is the begonia garden, and this year a special Begonia Christmas Night event will be held after sunset from December 23rd until December 25th.
During the event, the interior of the begonia garden will be illuminated by LED lights and enveloped in mist, creating a truly magical atmosphere. In addition, there will be five meter tall Christmas "tree" made from around 300 pots of brightly colored poinsettias. As the festive season is particularly busy at the park, advance tickets are required for the 23rd to 25th of December timeframe – they can be arranged at several convenience stores ahead of time. More information on ticketing can be found here.
Getting there
Nabana no Sato can be accessed in around 10 minutes by bus from Kintetsu Nagashima Station, which is served by the Nagoya Line.
For those who opt to drive, free on-site parking is available for over 5000 vehicles.
