From October 10th to November 23rd 2020, a special exhibition is taking place at the Kyoto National Museum titled "Treasures from the Imperial Palace". The exhibition celebrates the Emperor's enthronement, and will showcase a number of masterpieces which belong to the Imperial Household.
The event will be the first time that many of these treasures have been exhibited outside Tokyo, providing guests with a truly unique opportunity. There will be artworks, folding screens, furnishings, and calligraphy pieces on display to name a few.
Adult admission to the event is ¥1800, and reservations are required in advance.
Getting there
Via Public Transport:
From Kyoto Station, head to bus platform D2 in front of the station. Take City Bus #206 or #208 until you reach the "Hakubutsukan Sanjusangendo-mae" bus stop.
Via Private Vehicle:
The museum is located approximately 20 minutes drive from the Kyoto Higashi IC exit from the Meishin Expressway. Paid parking is available at the venue.
