The TeamLab collective has become well-known for their inventive art installations, and an event at Kyoto's Toji Temple carries on that trend. The TeamLab Toji Light Festival uses digital technology to turn the 1200-year old temple into art without physically changing any of its structures. Floating lamps activated by movement, illuminated buildings and trees, and interactive colorful eggs and spheres are just some of the displays you'll find at the venue.
Adult admission to the event is priced at 1,600 yen on weekdays, and 2,200 yen on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. For elementary and junior high school students, the fee is 600 yen on weekdays, and 800 yen on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. Preschoolers receive free admission. Tickets are required in advance, which can be arranged via the official website here.
