When I lived in Kyoto, Daigoji was only 20 minutes by bicycle from my home, so I went there many times. It is so beautiful at every time of year, but it has a reputation for wonderful cherry blossoms. This mean it gets kind of crowded during spring, especially on weekends, but don't let that stop you visiting. There are many cherry trees in the grounds, including a large weeping cherry, and an avenue of cherry trees between tile capped walls. My favorite view was of petals floating on the pond next to pretty Benten-do and its arched red bridge.
