Japan is known for its futuristic highway systems; however, its traditional side is found in Kyoto. As a city surrounded by mountains on three sides, it is also an ideal place for bikers. We have seen many places that rent out bicycles all around the city, but there are only few places which rent out such state of art motorcycles. If you looking for style, luxury and comfort, then a Harley-Davidson motorcycle would make a great choice.
Why Harley-Davidson?
Harley-Davidson is the first name that comes to your mind when you think of cruiser motorcycles. Harleys are modern, yet vintage with a glorious past. They have been people’s choice for leisure motorcycles for over 100 years. Harley-Davidson has a unique culture that they have created. There are no customers or employees; it is known as the big “Harley family” through which they are able to provide quality and love of their product.
Harleys are cruiser motorcycles, ideal for riders and pillions, giving you a luxury couch feeling on long rides. From track racing to hill climbing they are known to be powerful yet safe motorcycles.
Rental details
The Harley-Davidson showroom is located in the north-east of Kyoto, in Sakyo ward. Renting out a Harley-Davidson would cost you around ¥25,000-¥30,000 per day (24hours) but they do have options available if you want to rent out for just 4-8 hours, half day or day trip. You can also rent the accessories for another ¥1500, like riding jackets, shoes, helmets, gloves, rain gear, and GPS; or if you are a smart phone user, Google maps are always at your rescue.
Harleys are known to be well engineered so they are less likely to face any technical issues. They do have a dedicated service center with professionals working on these motorcycles for years. They have a showroom too if you interested in buying their merchandise or even a motorcycle.
So if you don't prefer walking or pedaling a bicycle and if you are looking for an adventurous time and a thrill-seeking experience, then a Harley-Davidson is what you need. A Harley-Davidson experience makes you a part of the motorcycle family which has a long history since World War I and a part of the cult group across the globe. And how can we forget the iconic image of Arnold Schwarzenegger in the movie Terminator 2 on a Harley-Davidson, which is exactly the kind of proud feeling you will experience when you ride one.
Please note the License Requirements: In order to rent a motorcycle you need to be at least 21 years of age and should possess a valid motorcycle license from Japan and in case of foreigners an Original motorcycle license + International Driving Permit (IDP) is required.
