Yokohama Port Festival Fireworks (2013)

There is a paying-area and a non-paying area for the stage and fireworks display. The paying area gets the best view of the stage performances at the festival.

Food and drinks are essential to enjoy festivals.

Almost every food stall near the stage had a queue.

Another summer feature – time for pretty yukatas to be worn.

Starting off with a bang is the fireworks show.

All kinds of shapes, colours and sizes. From sprays of light…

…to a ferris wheel alike…

…to shooting stars…

…to multi-coloured…

…and multi-layered fireworks.

One of the most iconic fireworks shapes used in Japanese art.

The fireworks display was split into 2 parts with about 5 minutes break in between.

The display ended with multiple bursts of huge fireworks.

Yokohama's iconic ferris wheel, Cosmos Clock 21, at Yokohama Cosmo World is a great place to visit too.

A huge (to the point of scary) crowd came out on a Sunday to see the fireworks.

Giving thanks and appreciation to the port that has brought much into the lives of the people of Yokohama. The closest stations are JR Sakuragicho Station and Minato Mirai Station on Minato Mirai Line.
