On Tuesday, May 6th, pet lovers and history buffs can come together for a unique Golden Week event at the immersive “MYSTERY OF TUTANKHAMEN” exhibition taking place in Yokohama. For one day only, visitors will be allowed to bring their pets into the museum for “Tutan’Nya’men Day”—a special event blending ancient Egyptian history with a modern pet-friendly twist.
Held at the PLOT48 venue in Minatomirai, this experiential exhibition invites guests to explore recreated tombs, high-definition 3D scans, immersive videos, and over 130 life-size replicas of ancient artifacts. On “Tutan’Nya’men Day,” pets can accompany their humans through this interactive world—as long as they’re safely inside a cage or carrier cart. For those who purchase a photo ticket (an extra 1000 JPY on top of the regular admission price), there’s even a designated spot where pets can briefly be let out with a leash for photo opportunities.
Adding to the fun, the event will feature exclusive goods inspired by Egyptian animal gods like Bastet (cat) and Anubis (dog), along with pet cosplay items that transform your furry friend into a tiny Tutankhamun. Original limited-edition merchandise will also be on sale.
The overall exhibition runs until December 25th, 2025, but this pet-friendly celebration is only available on May 6th. It’s a perfect mix of education and entertainment for those looking to do something a little different with their pet over the holiday break.
