When Apr 24th - Nov 28th 2021, 12:00am - 11:59pm

Water has been an object of worship and prayer since ancient times, and it has also been a source of inspiration for various artists throughout the ages. A special event taking place at Hakone's Lalique Museum focuses on this, and looks at the aquatic-themed world of French glass designer Rene Lalique (1860 - 1945). Many of his works were inspired by water, and prominently featured animals such as dragonflies, fish, and waterfowl.

Adult admission to the event is priced at 1500 yen.

Getting there

The Lalique Museum is located around 20 minutes from the Tomei Expressway's Gotemba IC.

For those visiting the museum via public transport, head to Hakone Yumoto Station on the Hakone Tozan Line. From there, take the Hakone Tozan Bus bound for "Kojiri / Togendai" and get off at the stop for the Sengoku Information Center (travel time is about 30 minutes). From there, the museum is just a minute away on foot.
