<p>The Akarenga Soko is best viewed at the twilight hour. The red illumination and the contrast of the blue backdrop of the twilight sky gives a mystic feel of the surroundings. </p>

<p>What can you do at Akarenga Soko? Stroll around the structure, watch the cruise ships leave from the harbor, or go inside where you can enjoy shopping at the various establishments or just sit down on the first floor cafe and enjoy the view.</p>

<p>This building also has some commercial establishments; however, it is mostly used for events and art exhibitions. Have a look at the art exhibition posters near the entrance.</p>

<p>The Landmark Tower is just a 15-minute walk from Akarenga Soko. Sakuragicho station</p>

<p>Walking back to the Sakuragicho station (the most convenient station), the elegant structure really stands out of the concrete neighborhood of the Landmark Tower and Hotel Pacifico in the vicinity.</p>

<p>Traffic light trails with the Yokohama Bay Bridge in the background, and you can see the Yokohama Tower to the extreme right (slightly difficult to make out though).</p>

<p>Akarenga Soko as seen from the Osanbashi Yokohama International Passenger Terminal—a fascinating and romantic view, as you might figure out looking at all the couples at the waterfront!</p>

Yokohama, a port city, offers many wonderful retro-modern architectural spots to visit. Akarenga Soko, which stands for beautiful red brick architecture, is one of them and it is located only minutes away from the Landmark Tower in the Minatomirai area. Having Yokohama Bay Bridge on one side and the Landmark Tower on the other, this area is a great place to spend an evening. There are other attractions in walking distance, so there is a lot to do. Munich's world famous beer festival "Oktoberfest" is also held here at Akarenga Soko.
