Whenever I go to Kamakura, one of my favorite photo spots there is Tsurugaoka Hachiman-gu Shrine. A small shrine compared to Kyoto size shrines, but charming and very alive. This shrine is used for may special occasions like weddings, Noh-plays, traditional archery/horseback riding and much more. Be sure to check out the local tourist information for upcoming events. By the way, if you want to take great photographs, I recommend that you skip breakfast and arrive there early! 5 am or 6 am is usually my time. And in the evenings, skip supper to be ready for sunset photo shootings. Now you know why good photographers have only one meal a day! I am just kidding. But earlier is better, no kidding!
