There are two nice beaches at the foot of the bridge going over to Enoshima: Higashi-hama and Nishi-hama. Higashi-hama (east beach) is quite popular with families and young people because of easy access by a few train lines. It is only a 2-minute walk from Katase Enoshima Station on the Odakyu Line,  or a 5-minute-walk from Enoshima Station on the Enoden Line, or a 7-minute-walk from Shonan Enoshima Station on the Shonan Monorail. Stylish beach houses and beautiful views of Enoshima are the reason why people choose to come here to enjoy summer fun. Nishi-hama (west beach) is for adults, because of  some rough waves and tides.

In the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, the sailing events will be held here in Enoshima. This was also the location for the sailing events during the 1964 Summer Games! A lot of attention will be focused on Enoshima over the next 5 years. The harbor is home to about 1000 sailboats. People enjoy sailing, especially in summer. The yacht house design of waves and sails has a cozy harbor terrace and a café serving Enoshima’s specialty, young anchovies.
