On your road trip to find Cape Tomyozaki in Yokosuka, follow the small brown street signs that read “Tomyodo Lighthouse.” Uraga Toumyoudou (lighthouse) was restored to the old lighthouse mark (stone wall) in Yokosuka City in March of 1989. It is said the original was built in 1648 by the order of Edo shogunate and functioned to keep the night sea safe for approximately 220 years. Escape to the beach to enjoy fun in the sun, sand and ocean. A more secluded beach due to its inaccessibility, you can always find a few surfers, sunbathers and swimmers. Children and hobbyists love to explore the tide pools and collect sea glass and shells.
Parking 1,000yen for the day (sometimes free depending on the day of the week).
