A special exhibition at the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouses from December 24th until January 10th will celebrate the 40th anniversary of Pingu, the much-loved stop motion animation character created by Otmar Gutmann. Approximately 400 items including real clay models, dioramas, storyboards, and more will be on display.
Admission to the exhibition is priced at 1300 yen for adults, 1000 yen for university students, 700 yen for high school students, 500 yen for junior high students, and 400 yen for elementary-aged students. Tickets can be reserved in advance via Lawson convenience stores, or online here. Same day tickets will also be sold at the venue.
Getting there
The Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse area can be accessed in around 6 minutes on foot from either Bashamichi Station or Nihon Odori Station, which are both served by the Minatomirai Line.
For those who opt to drive, on-site parking is available - it's charged at a rate of 500 yen for the first hour, then 250 yen for each 30 minute increment thereafter.
