浄妙寺の梅が花ほころぶと、鎌倉は春を迎える。梅の木の脇を歩けば、時折ふんわりとした風に乗って、やや肌寒い空気の中に甘酸っぱい香が漂う。細い枝を紅白の花で装う梅、足下には福寿草や水仙の可憐な花、青笹の合間には赤い椿が美しい。春先の気温の変化にも負けない梅花を数週間楽しんだ後は、花の女王、桜の登場を待つ。
