Fireworks fan? The Sanriku Fireworks Competition brings 23 different fireworks companies to Iwate prefecture to battle it out and show off their skills in the pyrotechnics field.
Over 15,000 fireworks will be launched between 6pm and 7:30pm (in 2024), but there will be plenty of other fun for visitors to enjoy starting at noon on the day. Performances by local entertainment groups, activities for children, and food trucks serving up a variety of local cuisine are all part of the event.
Getting there
The Sanriku Fireworks Competition takes place at the Takada Matsubara Sports Park, which is located just two minutes on foot from the Kiseki no Ipponmatsu Station.
