Numerous bon festivals are held during the summer months in Japan, and they represent a time to honor and commemorate ancestral spirits. An easily accessible bon event held at a shopping complex in Hyogo Prefecture showcases the beauty of this traditional festival, where attendees can also enjoy food booths and carnival-style games.
The Tsukashin Summer Bon Festival will run for two days (Friday, August 4th and Saturday, August 5th) from 7pm until 9.30pm. If you plan to attend, keep an eye on the weather forecast – in the event of rain the festival will be cancelled.
Getting there
The festival takes place at the Gunze Town Center Tsukashin shopping complex located in Amagasaki, Hyogo Prefecture. Free on-site parking is available for up to two hours.
For those visiting via public transport, the venue can be accessed in around 6 minutes on foot from Inadera Station, which is served by the Fukuchiyama Line.
