Cafe Kantokotoro in Southern Kobe

Hidden gem near Maiko Station & Akashi Kaikyo Bridge

If you are in Southern Kobe, near Maiko Station, be sure to stop by the Cafe Kantokotoro for some light refreshments, a drink, or a tasty dessert. Hidden at the top of a small apartment building in a quiet neighborhood not far from the station, the cafe is a wonderful place to relax and take in the view of famous Akashi Kaikyo Bridge. A beautiful grand piano sits prominently in the cafe, and live music performances are periodically scheduled each month.

The owner of the cafe is friendly and speaks wonderful English. Menu items are simple, but tasty. Lunch offerings include curry, hot sandwiches, rice pilaf, and doria (rice casserole). For dessert, enjoy ice cream or cake paired with a selection of coffee or tea. Wine, beer, and cocktails are also served; all at very reasonable prices.

The cafe is about five minutes' walk from the station, and is very close to the Seaside Hotel Maiko Villa Kobe.
