Sunflowers are a symbol of summer's vibrant energy and beauty, and there are numerous places to enjoy them across Japan. One destination in Hiroshima Prefecture is Sera Kogen Farm, which is one of the country's leading flower tourism venues.
During late July through August, 60 varieties of sunflowers fill a space of approximately 65,000 square meters, resulting in an incredibly magical scene. In addition to all of the flowers in bloom there will be photo spots set up, sunflower bouquets for sale, and more.
If you do plan to visit, please note that admission prices vary depending on how the flowers are blooming. Adult admission is priced at anywhere from 700 to 1200 yen, and child admission (counted as anyone from 4 years old to elementary school age) is from 300 to 600 yen.
Getting there
The Sera Kogen Farm and Flower Village is located approximately a 25 minute drive from the Miyoshi IC on the Chugoku Expressway, around 40 minutes from the Kawachi IC of the Sanyo Expressway, and around 50 minutes from the Saijo IC, also on the Sanyo Expressway.
