It wouldn't feel like the festive season without some twinkling lights, and the Forest of Lights at Tenjin Central Park delivers a bounty of them. The event is set to include an impressive 12 meter-tall illuminated Christmas tree, a 4 meter-tall reindeer, and even a giant moving bear at the park from late November.
Along with the myriad of illuminations to enjoy, the event will also offer seasonal drinks like mulled wine and hot chocolate available to purchase – you can get them in a commemorative mug for a small additional fee.
Admission to the event itself is free of charge, but bring yen if you plan on making any purchases.
Getting there
Tenjin Central Park can be accessed in approximately 3 minutes on foot from Nishitetsu Fukuoka (Tenjin) Station, or about 5 minutes on foot from Tenjin subway station.
For those who opt to drive, there is a parking lot underneath the park. It's charged at 200 JPY for every 30 minute increment, up to a maximum of 1600 JPY per day.
