Fukui is famous for fresh seafood and you can find many seafood restaurants and bars within the city. Out of these places the Seafood Restaurant Kankichi is one of my favorites. Why? Because their food is delicious and the price is reasonable.

Kankichi has three restaurants inside Fukui Prefecture, and the one I frequent is located along the route 8 in Fukui City. For its convenient location it's always crowded whenever I go there. This establishment has a license of 'market bidder', which enables them to participate in every-day bidding at a seafood market, thus diners here can enjoy fresh, delicious seafood delivered directly from the market. The restaurant serves not only fresh seafood, but also tasty Sake and Shochu selected from all over Japan. Since various sweet deserts are also available, female customers enjoy 'girls' lunches' or 'girls' nights', too. It's open from 11:00 to 14:00 (lunch) and 17:30 to 23:00 (dinner) 365 days a year.
