Kumamoto-born Tatsuya Tanaka is a photographer who focuses on the unique medium of miniatures. His creations are humorous and thought-provoking, and he often uses everyday items in fun ways – for instance, broccoli and parsley are used to depict miniature trees.
The Miniature Life 2 exhibition taking place at the Fukui City Museum of Art (Art Lab Fukui) will delve into a variety of Tanaka's works, with close to 200 pieces set to be displayed. Best of all, photography is encouraged at the event, so be sure to take some snaps of the pieces on show.
Adult admission to the exhibition is priced at 1200 JPY, and no advance reservations are required.
