When traveling abroad, visitors wish to gain new experiences related to food, culture and accommodation. Hotel Wellness Yokoteji in Akita Prefecture will provide the kind of heart-warming Japanese hospitality that you may not want to leave the hotel! Located in the beautiful area of Yokote, it is well-known for its natural hot springs.
Hotel Wellness Yokoteji is a 15-minute drive from JR Yokote Train Station, and is equipped with both Western and Japanese-style rooms. I stayed in a Japanese-style room with traditional tatami flooring, where you can sleep in comfort on soft futons. It was truly an experience of a lifetime.
The rooms are air-conditioned (or heated) and include a fridge, a satellite TV, a private bathroom and kettle. Try their renowned tea, served in a beautiful china tea set in your own room. Guests can try the shared the immaculate and clean public baths (onsen) which are attached to the hot-springs. Each public bath has a sauna and an open-air hot-spring bath, which are open from 6:00am to 12:00am midnight.
The Kamakura restaurant serves popular Japanese dishes. A vegetarian menu is also available. A delicious breakfast buffet with both western and Japanese choices is served from 7:00am-9:00am.
Free Wi-Fi is provided in the lobby. Hotel Wellness Yokoteji also includes a laundry corner, meeting/banquet rooms and a gift shop among its facilities.
Akita Furusato Village, a theme park with a wide variety of attractions for both children and adults, is only a 10-minute walk away from the hotel. Yokote Park, where Yokote Castle is located, is 7 km away.
Hotel Wellness Yokoteji is beautifully located outside Yokote city, surrounded by mountains and forests. Takubo Numa, a beautiful lake, can be seen from the room windows. During autumn, the forests turn a beautiful yellow, orange, and red and you take in this scenery from the comfort of the hotel. During winter, when everything is covered with snow, cuddle up in the warmth of the hotel, making it a convenient base for the Kamakura Festival, a leading winter folk festival that attracts not only Japanese but also visitors from all over the world. During the festival, snow huts are built and dedicated to the water god “Oshizu”.
If you want to experience a Japanese-style room in an idyllic hotel surrounded by a picturesque environment, I highly recommend staying at Hotel Wellness Yokoteji. It will be the experience of a lifetime.
