Yokote city is located in Akita Prefecture. JR Yokote Station is served by both the Kitakami Line and the Ou Main Line. Home to many festivals throughout the year, with the leading Kamakura Festival in mid-February when snow built huts are dedicated to the water spirits, Yokote has many cultural experiences to offer. During your stay here, indulge yourself in local specialties such as Yakisoba, pickles, fruits and sake and definitely walk around the beautiful Yokote Park and Lake Takubo Numa. Whether you have children or not, you should pay a visit to Akita Furosato Village, a theme park with attractions for both adults and youngsters. If you decide to go on an excursion to the north of Japan, I would recommend that you drop in at Yokote city!
