The 2026 Asian Para Games will bring Asia's top athletes with disabilities to Japan for a major international multi-sport event celebrating elite competition, accessibility, and inclusion. Held every four years alongside the Asian Games, the event showcases world-class sport across a wide range of disciplines adapted for different physical and intellectual needs. In 2026, the spotlight will fall on Nagoya and the wider Aichi Prefecture, marking the first time Japan has hosted the Asian Para Games.

Running from October 18th to 24th, the Games will feature 18 sports, including the likes of athletics, swimming, wheelchair basketball, goalball, judo, wheelchair rugby, and wheelchair tennis. A total of 19 venues will be used across Nagoya and surrounding cities such as Toyota, Okazaki, Ichinomiya, Kariya, and Toyohashi, blending large-scale indoor arenas with temporary outdoor venues in public parks. Cycling events will extend beyond the host region to sites in Shizuoka Prefecture.

Nagoya's selection as host was confirmed by the Asian Paralympic Committee following a formal inspection, after the city had already secured the 2026 Asian Games through the Olympic Council of Asia. Together, the two events position Nagoya and broader Aichi as a major sporting center for the region in 2026.

The official motto, "Imagine One Heart," reflects the Games' focus on unity and shared experience through sport. The mascot, Uzumin, symbolizes the collective energy of athletes and the ripple effect their performances are intended to have across Asia.

With modern transport, high-quality venues, and strong local engagement, Nagoya and Aichi are set to deliver a significant and highly anticipated edition of the Asian Para Games.
